Pointing Devices: Absolute or Relative
Back

Using a modified Nintendo Wii remote we are comparing relative pointing using a 6-degree of axis pointer with two camera absolute pointers, one using camera only and the other using the camera with additional stabilization from the 6-degree of axis information. We have found that relative pointing is superior both in terms of pointing at targets and in terms of user ratings and preferences.
