These studies in art are being conducted by the Laboratory for Automation
Psychology and Decision Processes. The purpose of these studies is twofold:
to understand the processes by which people judge works of art and to
assess the dimensions and weights of aesthetic factors.
Factors of Art. How do people evaluate works of art?
This study attempts to use a set of factors alone and in combinations to analyze how people do it.
Jurying Process. How do jurors decide whether a piece is in or out of a show and which
pieces get awards. This study attempts to map the selection process in an online show.
